Birthcare Services & General Terms & Conditions

Aim of Birthcare Auckland Limited

We aim to provide a comprehensive service for women expecting a normal birth and all types of postnatal stay. This will consist of 'women-centred' care, with Birthcare's staff working in close co-operation with the client's own midwife or specialist.

Birthcare encourages family involvement in the birthing and parenting experience.

Birthcare supports "The Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative"

Room Options Available

Premum Room - Your own room with queen bed and ensuite incorporating all care and hotel services supplied by Birthcare.       
Room rate of $340 (incl GST) per night for the 1st 3 nights.                                                                                                                                                                                                             
Private Room - Your own room with ensuite incorporating all care and hotel services supplied by Birthcare.
Room rate of $305 (incl GST) per night  for the 1st 3 nights.

Standard Room - A shared twin room with ensuite. Standared room fully funded with no charge to for 3 nights.

There are telephones in all rooms,  calls are charged by service.

Services Provided

Birth Stay

Birthcare provides all facilities for normal births. This is fully funded by Auckland District Health Board. Criteria which might exclude your delivery at Birthcare are detailed on the reverse of the Booking Form. Your Midwife or Doctor is required to have an Access Agreement with Birthcare for them to provide this service. We have our own LMC (Lead Maternity Carer) midwives that provide full care throughout pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

Posnatal Stay

Postnatal care by midwives and nurses following transfer from our birthing suite or a public hospital. Most mothers and babies transfer directly from the delivery unit as soon as possible after birth. Fathers are always welcome. Birthcare staff liase directly with your midwife or specialist about your care with us.

Classes

Pregnancy and Parenting Education - 6 & 7 week courses
Refresher Class - monthly for 2nd and subsequent pregnancies
These classes are available to the public, free of charge and are recommended for Birthcare clients.
Private classes for couples with special needs are available on request.
We also have breastfeeding classes
Please book early as these classes book up very quickly.

Lactation services

We have a lactation clinic which is held on a Monday and Thursday. see our lactation services for details.

Guest Meals

Guests are welcome to order meals during your stay. Charges for these are at a rate of $20.00 (Dinner) $15.00 (Lunch) and $10.00 (Contenental Breakfast) $15.00 (Cooked Breakfast)

Birthcare supports a smoke-free environment.
