Expectant Mothers

Welcome to Birthcare

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Pregnancy and early parenting is the greatest challenge for a woman and her family. The changes will affect every aspect of a family's life both physically and emotionally.

How can you be sure that your baby gets the best start in life? Birthcare provides maternity care every mother and baby deserves through pregnancy and parenting education, facility and midwifery support for labour, birth and postnatal inpatient care.

Birthcare ensures that your birth experience will be the best that it can be. All of our childbirth educators are Registered Midwives or qualified Childbirth Educators

Whether you are looking for a midwife, antenatal classes, a place to have your baby or somewhere special for your postnatal stay, we are able to help you.

Your Options

Birthing at Birthcare

You can either have your baby at Birthcare with your LMC midwife or with a Birthcare team midwife

Postnatal stay at Birthcare

If you choose to have your baby at another hospital, you can move to Birthcare for your postnatal stay. If you have a normal delivery at Auckland Hospital, you will be expected to move to Birthcare as soon as possible after delivery.

You are also able to transfer after a caesarian section. See our transfer criteria.

Antenatal classes

We have a wide range of antenatal classes to suit a variety of needs.

Lactation clinic

We have a lactation clinic, which you are able to attend if you need extra assistance with breastfeeding.
