FAQ
Q. How soon do I need to book?
A. You can book at any time up until your baby is born, however it is good to have your booking complete by 34 weeks so you don't have to worry about it. Once baby is born, your LMC or the hospital midwife will give us a call and let us know that you have delivered.
Q. I've sent my registration form in and have not heard back from you.
A. We do not send out any confirmation of acceptance. If you want to phone and check up on your registration you are welcome to do so.
Q. What do I need to bring to Birthcare.
A. All you will need at Birthcare will be clothes for yourself and your baby. We have a laundry where you will be able to do your personal washing. We provide nappies, pads and non chemical baby wipes.
Q. Can I book a Premium Room ?
A. Unfortunately we cannot take bookings for Premium rooms. Premium rooms are popular but if there is one available when you check in and you have had a normal birth, we would be happy to accomodate you. There are extra charges for these rooms. Please see our "Schedule of charges".
Q. Am I able to stay some nights in a shared room and then a night in a private room.
A. Yes. You are able to stay at Birthcare for 3 nights. If you would like to only have 1 or 2 nights in a private room, you can stay in a shared room and then move into a private room for 1 or 2 nights. It is better to stay in the shared room first rather than the other way around. The private room is partly funded so you will need to pay for the upgrade.
Q. When does my first night begin
A. Your first night will be the date that you arrive. Whatever time that is, that date will be your first night. After midnight will be your second day.
