Birthing

Birthing at Birthcare is free if you are a New Zealand resident or have a 2 year work visa.

To birth at Birthcare you will have to have a midwife as your LMC (Lead Maternity Carer) and will ideally be wanting a normal vaginal birth. Your midwife will need to have an access agreement with Birthcare. Birthcare is a primary birthing hospital and so we do not offer epidurals or caesarean sections.

If you develop complications in labour and need to be transferred to Auckland City, we will call an ambulance and will have you across the other side of the domain in a very short time.

Birthcare has two teams of midwives that work as Lead Maternity Carers. If you do not have a midwife and would like to birth at Birthcare you can contact our Birthcare team . Remember to register early to avoid disappointment
