Melissa Mcbridemelissa

I am a mother of 4 boys and have been a midwife since 2004. I have been working as an independant midwife for over 13 years and have also worked for 2 years at Birthcare Huntly.

Because of the nature of the job, with me being on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (urgent only) I have every second weekend off. While I have this time off, you will be cared for by my amazing midwifery partner Tui Lee. I look forward to meeting you

Women find me friendly, outgoing and easy to talk to. After graduating, I worked in Middlemore Hospital for 4 years where I gained a huge amount of experience in both normal and complex midwifery cares.I practice in the North Waikato from Horitiu to Mere Mere and the surrounding areas.

I have a midwifery partner, Melissa McBride who provides safe support and back up so there is always someone available to you. We are employed by Birthcare Huntly where we provide free pregnancy testing, clinics in Ngaruawahia and Huntly, free parenting and antenatal classes, free scans, blood testing, audiology and referrals etc, free pregnancy, labour, birth and postnatal care and free breastfeeding clinics.

Birthcare is seeking Midwives who would be interested in providing Lead Maternity Care services to women residing in the Huntly Township and North Waikato area.

Why does Birthcare want to do this?
There is a need to increase the number of LMC Midwives available to women in the Huntly area to ensure women have the option of maternity care in their community and a primary birth experience in our facility.
If you would be interested in a position like this please come and talk to us, or contact Korina Vaughn the Clinical Midwife Manager for Birthcare Huntly. We would welcome your thoughts on possible models of care.
We would also be interested in talking with you if you have Midwife colleagues who would be interested in teaming up together to provide these LMC services at Birthcare Huntly.

We look forward to your contact.
